KIRKUS REVIEW

Well handled high adventure of the Southwest in the early 1800's. An Irish Texan soldier of fortune falls in love with a blueblood Senorita, who is betrothed to the ruthless dictator of the province of New Mexico and trouble triples as the men tangle over her and the rule in New Mexico. There's plenty of adventure, pioneering, hostile Indians, physical hardships, marauders -- trappings for a first rate yarn.
