KIRKUS REVIEW

Travels in the Orinoco Llanos of Venezuela, by an engineer surveying for an American Oil Company. Written in a quiet key, and lacks the sense of adventure we have come to expect in travel books. Nor has it the colorfulness of the writing that makes adventure of beauty. Jungle experiences, dysentery, a companion who is a drunkard these alone highsport a disappointing narrative.
