KIRKUS REVIEW

Possibly entertaining, possibly exacerbating, this is whimsey, dimpled with sentiment, which tells about Mrs. Frederika Cooper whose helterskelter charm and open heart take in not only her family (surly Mr. Cooper; twins; a baby) but young Nevil, convalescing from an accident, and a convict, persuaded to break out of prison to be used in a burglary before he voluntarily returns to serve his sentence... This crimeless Crime Club selection has the designation ""Something Special"" although it's hard to explain why.
