SPANISH DANCING by La Meri

SPANISH DANCING

By

Pub Date: April 15th, 1948
Publisher: Barnes

For those interested in the history and lore of the dance, this will supply an illuminating sidelight on Spanish dancing, its folk lore, traditions, sources, techniques, regionalism. And the beautiful photographs, many of them action pictures, give added flavor. There is enough background of history and geography to give focus to the regional aspects, and the actual descriptive matter relating to the various national dances falls into regional categories. The chapter on techniques will be valuable to aspiring dancers, particularly the warnings, but it is not a book of self-instruction, not a how-to-do-it book, but one that will be as valuable for the trained observer as for the aspiring dancer.
