This is a revision, the title notwithstanding, of the older of the two overlapping Larousse surveys of mythology, the Larousse Encyclopedia of Mythology, published here in 1959, much earlier abroad. The later Larousse World Mythology, which appeared in 1965, was much more favorably received.
