This ramble for a rainy day through word puzzles, geometric puzzles, picture puzzles and practical puzzles should keep children occupied for a few hours. The many problems are interspersed with facts about great puzzlemakers and the art of puzzle making. Most of the puzzles here are familiar; only a few new types are represented. The black and white pictures and diagrams serve as clear explanations as well as decorations. Not as original as some of Mr. Kettelkamp's other books, one of which is Drums, Rattles and Bells (1960, p. 499, J-197).
