A STUDENT'S DIARY: lapest Oct. 16 -- Nov. 1

This is an expansion of one student's experience as the unrest and drive to regain lost liberties disrupted into the revolt in Hungary. An art student, Beke was also leader of the protest groups instrumental in triggering the whole revolution. In his deep emotional division, fearful as he was for his pregnant wife, this brings triumph and tragedy into juxtaposition and leaves an impress as a moving document and a first hand record of a glorious interlude in the struggle for liberty.
