FARTHEST WEST

This is sure to be a beautiful book, for the combination of Laura Armer and Sidney Armer (and Longmans, Green) always manages to produce something lovely to look at. But the story itself seems to me artificial, stilted, and an obvious attempt to put over the idea of conservation of our great trees, in a slender story of a group of California school children and their successful efforts to save a grove or redwoods from the lumber men.
