A very beautiful book, from the gift book angle, with its rich coloring in the illustrations which have their inspiration in the Mexican modern art. The story rather artificially brings in a good deal of factual content of native life and flora and fauna on the edge of the jungle. A story about Diego and Popo and the pet parrot and of their expedition in search of an iguana in the forest. As a picture of Mexican life, it lacks the quality of realism of Popo and a number of others.
