KIRKUS REVIEW

Don't sidetrack this simply as a juvenile, for there is nothing about the handling that would make it unpalatable for adults. Jenny Lind is perhaps the most popular singer that ever lived, known the world over as The Swedish Nightingale, feted and adored wherever she went. The first two thirds of the book is more warmly and intimately personal than the last third, which recounts her triumphal tours of Europe and America. Even today, the place where she sang is pointed out, whether it be New York, Boston, Baltimore, New Orleans, St. Louis. There are many among your older customers who may have childhood memories of her -- suggest this biography to them.
