YOURS 'TIL THE ICE CRACKS: A Book of Valentines

A baker's dozen of whimsical Valentine's greetings with witty illustrations to extend the fun: ""Be my valentine. Yours 'til the dinosaur drops"" reads the message facing a dinosaur that has just fallen into a heart-shaped, heffalump-style trap, while a caveman and -woman look on; a grass-covered, heart-shaped divot, evidently from the top of the trap, graces the facing page. ""Yours 'til the moon melts"" sounds like a longer-lived affection, until the illustration of a heart pattern shoveled in the snow beneath just a sliver of moon is considered. A lawnmower, a skywriter, a wrecking ball, and even a tightrope fashion hearts on other pages, but the message is consistent: affection is fun, but it's also ephemeral. Entertainingly offbeat.
