A nice job, in which beautiful photographs and text tell the story of the Pueblo civilization and culture through the homes of the Indians of the Southwest. The text is of necessity brief and well condensed, providing a springboard to further study. The span of history is long -- from basket maker period to the historic pueblo, including interpretations of how the houses and ceremonial rooms were (and are) used. The pictures represent some 20 years' work. The processes by which the age of dwellings can be identified is explained.
