KIRKUS REVIEW

And down in the crew's quarters, described as having ""all the simple charms of a neglected Gents in a railway station"", seduction, extortion, smuggling, and various other little intrigues are plotted constantly. A very amusing tale of life at sea, told by an idiot with lots of savvy, this is typical British group comedy, episodically alternating between fine linguistic satire and mad, frenetic slap-stick. Mr. Marks ""goes first class"" all the way.
