KIRKUS REVIEW
The murder of British agent Peter Anson and recent movements of heavily armed Royalists in Southern Serbia working against Tito prompted Methuen's mission there. Infiltrating the lonely hillsides he hid out in a cave, stumbled on a wounded muleteer whose dying words gave him the clue he needed. Posing as a guide he joined the ranks of the insurrectionists and discovered that their purpose was to smuggle enough gold out of the country to establish King Peter's cause. But before he can retreat with the information there is an ambush. Intricate espionage and hugger-mugger with peripheral foreign office overtones. Adequate.
