RATHER COOL FOR MAYHEM

Home from the ETO, Jim Lawrence learns that his old love, Grace, is deciding between an erratic, superb but nasty pathologist and a proper, successful and politically ambitious business man. The murder of the pathologist drives Grace and Jim to play tag with the local police around Blindman's Lake and another killing ties in with genteel blackmail, threatening pictures and recordings and telltale prescriptions. Competent, compact and convincing.
