THE KEYNESIAN REVOLUTION

This extended doctorate thesis considers, in great and technical detail, the revolution in economic though brought about by Lord Keynes' General Theory of 1936. The author first analyzes Keynes classical background as expressed in his early A Treatise on Money, and traces the transition in his economic development from the classical mold to his theory of effective demand of 1936. The major part of the book is devoted to the General Theory, in terms of its opposition and their theories, Keynes' economic predecessors, its theoretical foundations and implications, its application in day-to-day life. An exhaustive, able defence of Keynesian liberalism, not for the uninitiated.
