Story of a Zuni lad who meets, by chance, a white boy of his own age and helps the family out of trouble, thus gaining their interest and friendship. A desert camping trip, a visit to the Zuni pueblo, and the friendship ripens. Eventually, the Indian lad returns with his white friends to New York, for a season's work in the craft shop there. Interesting factual material of modern Indian life, a few legends, a fostering of the spirit of cooperation between races. Not an inspired story in the telling -- but better than average.
