KIRKUS REVIEW

The photographs accompanying this anthology are winners of the Scholastic/Kodak Photography contest. However, there's no visible reason for the selection of poetry which brings together ubiquitous favorites (""in Just-/spring. . . ,"" ""Two Tramps in Mud Time,"" ""Crossing Kansas By Train"") with student poetry (unfairly, we think, not identified as such) and a mixed lot of occasional pieces that range downward from Russell Hoban's ""Homework"" to large doses of Patricia Hubbell and Kaye Starbird. Unless you have some interest in the contest winners, thread this one to a star and wave good-bye.
