KIRKUS REVIEW

No challenge--and very little inducement for the least liked of contact sports, this follows Dan Barton through a first season of boxing after he is suspended from the football team (he's hot tempered--his one identifying character trait). From training through tryouts to a championship bout which he loses, he still learns something about sportsmanship and wins a fair play award. He also learns to keep slugging--the reader to keep plugging.
