Who is responsible for the mysterious robberies in Winnisquam, Massachusetts? self-styled detectives of the Saturday Gang, a frolicsome bunch of young scalawags, are determined to find out. But their attention shifts immediately when a TV company appears film a series against this colorful locale. In return for persuading the clannish villagers to support the television people, the boys are rewarded with their first acting job one of the episodes. With summer nearly over, the Gang summons their courage and are instrumental in pointing the finger of guilt not at suspicious Sunny Silva the rebel of Cove, but at his uncle who used Sunny's shack to stash away the loot. With all their , humor and character. Teddy Tibbets and his friends are honest-to-goodness 11 year , hampered and frustrated by adult authority, responsive to praise and reward, brimming with impish vitality, wide eyed at mystery. Boys of their age and temperament will demand more of the Saturday Gang.
