AUGUSTUS HELPS THE NAVY

Augustus in the Great Smoky Mountains in Kentucky, is testing his pet bullfrog in a parachute. It almost lands on a stranger's head--here enters Jed Pringle who has the ""Down East Cant"". He breaks the news about Pearl Harbor and the War to Augustus' family and persuades them to come East to help the Navy. They are all off again, this time for Penobacot Bay and the Annie. They live on the boat and a new life opens for the boy--crabs, lobsters, cels, clams; destroyers in the Bay and looking for subs.
