GREAT EXPECTATIONS: How to Make 30 Easy, Fast, Sexy, Cheerful Maternity Outfits

For those who only replace buttons or repair split seams, sewing maternity clothes may be too much of a struggle, especially with energies focused on the upcoming event. But those with ambition or skill, who dislike the frilly fare in standard departments or who can't manage the high-priced alternatives, may find these outfits worth trying. Many, like a wrap dress, are gently flowing or slightly fitted rather than ever-expanding; some are more exotic--dhoti pants, for instance--and some are quite unconventional, like the scarf bikini. Of course the last, like several others, displays a bare midriff, which more modest women, or those sensitive to navel discoloration, might not enjoy. But for the most part, these designs are attractive and, although not uniquely stylish now that name designers have entered the market, they do offer a distinctive look.
