Steve, young, aggressive, finds his father's budding airline pretty much of a hurdle, with the problem of a terrific burden of a debt, a recalcitrant bank, an insubordinate set of pilots, who balk at instrument flying, and a firebrand of a secretary. There's a risky route, there's plenty of danger in ice, in fog, in bad equipment and dangerous landing fields.
