A swell one for the horse lovers, this is a sequel to ""Golden Cloud"" (1950, p. 471) with more adventures of the palomino filly and of Orrin Toler who came to his own here while working at Blacky Martin's Oklahoma ranch. Blackie is again faced with a dream about to be shattered- when lack of funds means he can't develop the line of horses he wants. But a chance, coupled with intrigue, for Orrin and Golden Cloud to win H. C. Woodward's Palomino of the Year contest, materializes and climaxes in a tense show that makes the possibility of further ranching a strong reality. Graceful movement characterizes Pers Crowell's supple drawings.
