KIRKUS REVIEW

Another Palomino in this story of an Oklahoma ranch, action, intrigue, and horses. Orrin Toler, leaving his uncle's home in Detroit, loves horses but knows very little about them. He finds work in Oklahoma on Blacky Martin's ranch. Blacky too loves horses but has been unsuccessful as a breeder and keeps only a few horses including the Palomino, Queen. Queen's foal is a beauty and Orrin trains her, naming her Golden Cloud. Orrin foils the attempts of Blacky's worthless cousin, Gabe, to steal Cloud, and Blacky eventually gives the filly to Orrin. This should make a hit with the stable gang -- a Palomino will do it every time!
