KIRKUS REVIEW

A good biography of a famous American, which both young people and adults will find particularly interesting in the treatment of the boyhood and youth. I felt that the balance was not quite fair to the vital importance of his years of service to his government here and abroad, that so much more space should have been given to those formative years. But, unquestionably, the interest of younger readers is caught in this way, and enough of the later years is included to give a foundation.
