The mystical quality of the brain's pineal suggests why it's often described as the ""seat of the soul,"" whereas the unappetizing looking surface of the tongue (magnified here 38,000 times) would seem to indicate that our taste buds have their work cut out for them -- using new optical systems, colored photographs of the body in a stunning merger of biology and art.
