After waiting it out in Tarry Awhile (1962, p. 523, J-143), Beany bounces Back, now making frivolous plans for her wedding to Carlton. While Beany gets into a razzle over her grand procession, her brother Johnny quietly gets married to a wealthy, out-doorsy perfect girl, and horse-crazy sister Mary Fred at last wins the attention of Ander, her handsome idol. In this merry-go-round of marriages, it comes as no surprise that Beany happily gives up her hope for an elaborate day, marries Carlton in a haphazard ceremony, and is bursting with bliss-- as are all the other young newly or nearly weds. The few pouts and sobs do not counterbalance the mass move to happiness houses.
