KIRKUS REVIEW

Good enough reading even if the solution is too dependent on mental aberrations rather than the reasoned processes of crime. Todd McKinnins, murder mystery writer, and his wife, Georgine, who becomes emotionally involved, are let in on strange doings within a San Francisco religious sect. A death, the phony leader, her mad ""secretary"", her fascinating twin nieces, and murders, past and present -- lead from the hand of God to that of man as the McKinnins unravel sense from nonsense. Absorbing but not wholly convincing.
