THE CURIOUS WORLD OF CRYSTALS

Announcing a new title in the P-II Junior Research series: With the inclusion of numerous, easy-to-do experiments, and frequent clear (but unattractive) diagrams, the abstractions of crystallography are quite lucidly introduced. Crystals are defined in terms of their essential properties and growth, and some explanation is provided for the physical problems involved in crystal disorder, crystal shapes, and in deformed and transformed crystals. here is a comprehensible introduction to a subject which can be difficult to explain to this age group.
