This is a revised, up-dated edition of A Guide to the Religions of America (1955, p. 336), based on the Look magazine series on religions. Part I, Religious Beliefs, is composed of the ""What is a Baptist? Catholic? Jew? Agnostic?"" etc. article series; Part II, Facts, Figures and Opinions on Religion in the United States, covers church membership and religious preference; clergy, church organization and recent church mergers (1955-1962); religion and education; secular instruction; religion in American history; religion in contemporary American life from sociological data and polls. Part III provides a selected reading list and reference aids. In many instances, the up-dating has involved substitution or inclusion of new articles written since 1955, and revision of statistics formerly presented.
