Thirty seven years spent on the Amazon by two Nebraskans who became medical missionaries, more or less fortuitously. Mrs. Halliwell was a nurse, but her husband had no medical training, but soon realized that to save souls he must first save bodies. They built a small boat, equipped it with medical supplies and set out into the jungle of the Amazon. Today a fleet of such boats operates in that area. This is a charming tale of service and devotion, told with simplicity and humor and a sense of unpretentious heroism.
