GOD IN AN IRISH KITCHEN

By

Publisher: Sheed & Ward

We wished for illustrations before we read the book. Afterwards we found it did not need them. It is like a stage with constantly changing scenes and actors, a play in which the reader becomes completely absorbed, lost, fascinated. At the end he rubs his eyes, the lights go on, he is home, but only after a struggle to bring himself to. Written by a member of the Holy Cross who had access to the homes and lives of the west of Ireland country folk. He has a rare gift of expression and has caught all the flavor and charm of the Irish. The religious will enjoy it but so will plenty of others.
