A full length case history of an Indian, from birth to present day, which gives the cycle of Indian upbringing, of tribal and traditional knowledge, of early introduction to sex, of games, friends, pranks, family life. There is the break from 10 to 20, in white schools, with evidence of the superficiality of the impress made by those years of education, when a severe illness turns him forever back to Hopi beliefs and witchcraft. His manhood, marriage, the loss of his children, good times and bad, his impotence and the adoption of a son, with all his actions, thoughts, behavior influenced by his Indian training. An interesting contrast and conflict of civilization and cultures, of folkways, of authentic material on the Indian as American and as tribes man. Special appeal for sociologists, psychologists, students.
