I KILLED FOR THE LAW

This is the story of Robert Elliott, executioner in the modern sense. Elliott was an electrician, an expert in the science of electrocution, and this is his story, and the stories of his victims, -- Hauptmann, Sacco and Vanzetti, Ruth Snyder and Judd Gray. Actually, little could be said about Elliott, a retiring man, loathing the publicity his work entailed. Little too about the ""red heat"". Journalistic handling of the crimes leading to the executions, a slipshod job without much sequence or coherence. It seems to us an unnecessary book, written by a death-house reporter. Morbid curiosity may create a market.
