STARK OF THE NORTH COUNTRY

Slimly fictionized biography of John Stark, famous scout, one of Rogers' Rangers, veteran of the French-Indian Wars, Revolutionary hero, a man who alternately distinguished himself in the front lines and sulked in his tent, feeling himself misunderstood and not appreciated. It was a colorful dramatic period, and only recently have these phases of our fight for freedom come into their own. Good material here- too bad the style is so stilted and old-fashioned.
