THAT COUGAR IS A PUMA

A cougar is a puma is a mountain lion is a panther is a catamount--a mighty big cat no matter what you call it. ""The author"" as Mr. Miracle, camping enthusiast and former associate editor of Outdoor Life so painstakingly calls himself, has talked with many men who have seen, heard or hunted cougars. With the force of one who has heard a panther in the night and mistaken his own dog for a Big Cat, he tells some of the tales and many of the facts about this diminishing breed. Are they manhunters? Can they be tamed? How are they caught? The handful of photographs are not well-integrated with the text, but dry humor a conversational tone, and a preponderance of anecdote make this an attractive book for youngsters wild about wildlife.
