Don't be put off by the titles of programs or publications, older folks are warned; one can only hope, however, that they see themselves in this title's rosy light. Here, catalogued Whole-Earth, whole-hog fashion, are sources of advice and information on everything to do with aging, beginning auspiciously with ""the monumental work on the subject,"" Simone de Beauvoir's The Coming of Age. All of Biegel's selections--in the categories of food, housing, health, safety, leisure, travel, money management--are not equally sensitive or bold (they couldn't be), but in general the recommended books rate high among the recent large output, the pamphlets come from the most reputable sources. And while there's considerable spare change--in the crafts section, for instance--the many inclusions are suggestive: a dollhouse for a grandchild might be just what time now permits. A detailed rundown of relevant organizations is included, as well as special services from large-print books to funeral societies. And did you know that, starting at age 80, your're entitled to a birthday card from President Carter?
