Alfie Oliver that important people wear important hats, and so, discarding his old derby he sets out in search of the perfect hat for Alfie. Sultans, Indians, generals, admirals, hunters, explorers and Presidents capture Alfie's fancy, but in each case the hat is all wrong. It's the derby that wins out and the derby that prevails as Alfie learns that the man makes the hat.
