SECRET OF THE DOUBTING SAINT

Father Bredder, chaplain in a convent in Los Angeles, enjoys a quiet reputation as a priestly detective and is asked to call on a well-known television producer, who is killed during their interview in a garden. Meanwhile, the Bishop has asked Father Bredder to trace the possibly mythical missing diamond from an Indian madonna- and Father Bredder's reflective inquiry into both problems leads to a single solution. A pleasant competence here.
