KIRKUS REVIEW

earing to tie a square knot instead of a granny enables boat-loving avey to become a hero when he speedily unties a boat (one he himself has tied up) and rows out in a storm to rescue a yacht. His desire to row by himself is more than satisfied, and he is rewarded with a boat of his own. Clear but lacking originality, the representative illustrations follow the mere squibbet of a text closely. Far below the mark set by the author in Sam's First Fish (1962, p.519, J-139).
