TWELVE CITIZENS OF THE WORLD

These dozen biographics of people like Ralph Bunche, Ghandi, Schweitzer Nansen and Sarmieto who have lived for the betterment of mankind are an outstanding collection of profiles. The author is not contented with a mere outline of his subjects' lives. He uses an actual interview where he can. Then in a review of their careers he urges the reader to think of the reasons that made Bunche or Schweitzer or Pierre Ceresole (of the international work camps), the kinds of men they were. William Sharp's able drawings give a good feel of countries and personalities.
