THE CLEAN PIG

The inviting Weisgardian grin of the pig in the tub on the cover of this book is enough to swallow a reader right up. The story about a dirty old farm house near the railroad tracks and a poor little pig who fell off the whistling train and got sick because he was so dirty, had to be washed and thusly caused the farmer and his wife to clean up their whole establishment -- is poetic and imaginative. Leonard Weisgard's warm, rich words are a joy to read and his pictures, in toned browns full of humor and pathos.
