A PAGEANT OF DOLLS

Good value in this book for doll collectors, either individual or group, for it has a more direct approach in its main text which deals with specific dolls of countries round the world, their history, their costumes. The dolls chosen are reasonably available, not historic dolls or dolls of great value, and this constitutes a practical angle for collectors whose interest is in dolls characteristic of different peoples rather than in dolls of antiquarian or museum worth. The background history tells of their significance, the reflection of social and national customs, fashions, etc. Space is given to the development of techniques of doll making, materials of which they have been made.
