STARLIGHT NIGHTS by Leslie C. Peltier

Or-- Making the Best of Insomnia-- or-- How to Live in the Same Ohio County All Your Life and Get a Lot of Mileage out of a Telescope... Leslie Peltier has stargazed for fifty years and writes well about it-- very well indeed for someone who quit school at sixteen. He proceeded from a two inch telescope, mounted on a contraption of purest boyhood genius, to a twelve inch Clark refractor complete with an observatory that once served Miami University. His love for the stars is readily communicable here and it has served him quietly and rewardingly through the years. His book includes some anecdotage about growing up in the rural early 1900's all retaining a pleasant, home-canned flavor.
