THE SAINT IN THE SUN

A collection of short stories, linked by the central character of The Saint in an offbeat guise. Each story uses a resort setting- some transcontinental; each involves the Saint's help when asked to dispose of an unwanted character of- usually-unsavory reputation; in each case, with perhaps two exceptions, said characters die violently, mysteriously- and the Saint affords (a) a natural suspect because of his past: (b) a deus ex machina for solving the mystery. Intricate, but pretentious and overwritten.
