THE SAINT IN TROUBLE

Two more ""Saint"" teleplays converted into novellas, this time by Graham Weaver, but credited as always to the invisible Mr. Charteris (who didn't write the teleplays either). ""The Imprudent Professor"" is solar-energy expert Andrew Madett, who's in Cannes for a convention and who speaks some of the worst Scots dialect around. His daughter fears that the oil companies will do anything to stop the solar-energy movement, so she hires Simon Templar to protect the prof. A sexy spy-ette appears. The prof disappears. Car chases ensue. Russians are involved. In ""The Red Sabbath,"" Simon's back in London, where an Israel/ criminal-hunter persuades him to track down the London hideout of the first big Arab terrorist defector--they want to grill him, not kill him. Simon's parter: a sexy Israeli spy-ette. Of course. Some dandy London geography is involved here, and the novella length has a certain unpretentious, read-it-in-one-gulp attraction.
