SIREN IN THE NIGHT

The siren in this instance is a blackout siren, which creates confusion and spoils a perfect crime. A benefactor is murdered and turns out to have been a sadist and a brute, well dead and wished dead by family, friends and neighbors. Grace Latham, confidante busybody, obscures the solution by withholding evidence until Col. Primrose forces it into the open and uncovers blackmail, bigamy and revenge. Average.
