MURDER IN THE JACKPOT

By

Publisher: Scribner

This is not a Col. Primrose and Grace Latham mystery. There is murder offstage, as a slot machine king meets violent death but actually the murder is solved indirectly when other problems of heartache, petty gambling, bank shortages, and well disguised shady doings are run down. Janey, who has futilely gambled away the family savings, shows her true colors heroically and comes out a winner. In the final analysis, this is more of a dissection of small town society than a routine mystery.
