KIRKUS REVIEW

Every Protestant pastor should be acquainted with this book for it describes a fresh, imaginative and constructive approach to the work of the ministry. Dr. Convis has for years made ""his communicant's class"" the very center of his ministry instead of an accidental side show. Conducted each Saturday morning for nine months, buttressed by compulsory attendance of the members at the morning service, and by assiduous pastoral work in the families involved and high lighted at the end by warm fellowship, religious symbolism and climaxed by a deep personal religious experience for each participant, the communicant's class is a vital, almost central factor in the life of the congregation. Few pastors would be able to follow the author's plan in its entirety, but all would benefit by hearing about it. Highly recommended for Protestant pastors of non-liturgical Protestant denominations.
